I do love when pub food smashes it! Like you do a double take when you see the food and re-read the item on the menu and you are like? Errrrr?  😱🤔😲 This was me at the Pheasant Inn! After my birthday din dins in Fraiche back in 2018 and as part of our ritual whilst up north, driving through the country roads we stopped at the Pheasant Inn in Cheshire. Driving trhough the country side is therapeutic , especially when you are being driven ha! Seriously, Neal enjoys taking penny out in the country and me? I just tag along as per the usual

I remember thinking how goregous the Inn would be in the spring / summer and actually looking forward to another visit during that season. The food here? The chef on this day? did a ting boi! The menu was very much pub menu like nibbles, chargrilled, pub classics, from the grill, desserts and what not. I was very excited to see pork scratchings on the menu and I must admit I had a visual in my head. When I tell you this dish looked nothing like my vision? it was better, wayyyy better. The darn pork scratchings came out looking posh and what not, arranged in a clear jar with reduced fat at the bottom! It was pimped out and tasted yummy

My main was a fillet of sea bass with couscous and cauliflower, prawns. It was a sea food fest and it tasted fantastic!!! Absolutely top notch! Of course, Neal had a pork belly dish with potatoes which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Now, Northerners are known for their portion sizes and sweet tooth and when I tell you the pudding here could do no wrong! Cheesecake, white chocolate and passion fruit, caramel sauce and clotted cream! I mean! Phew!!! It was just scrumptious!

Yes, Pheasant Inn, your pub food too good!

Cheers
